Travel Grant Application

Funding: Travel grant funding is supported by an unrestricted educational grant. Recepients will receive $1,500 for applicants currently affiliated with institutions outside of Colorado (e.g. out-of-state applicants) and $1,000 for applicants currently affiliated with institutions in-state (e.g. in-state applicants).

Eligibility:
-Fellow in a formal A/I training program
-Academic A/I faculty at the instructor or assistant professor level
-Private/community practice A/I physicians within 5 years of graduating fellowship
-At the discretion of the AAAC Steering Committee, travel grants may b e awarded to individuals not meeting these categories (e.g. students, residents, PhD scientists, and advanced practice providers)

The following limitations/exclusions apply to AAC travel grant applicants (including grants received as a fellow):
-A maximum of 3 lifetime grants for private/community practice A/I physicians
-A maximum of 5 lifetime grants for academic faculty A/I physicians
-AAC Steering Committee members and individuals employed by industry/industry partners are not eligible for grants.

Selection Criteria: The AAC Steering Committee will review and accept/reject all of the travel grant applications and is empowered to make the final determination on eligibility of applicants. The number of travel grants awarded is dependent on the available educational grant funding.

In the event there are more applicants than funds allow, priority will be given as outlined below:
1. Applicants who submitted an original A/I research abstract or case report, not previously presented at another meeting
2. Fellows in active training at time of application
3. Applicants who have not previously received an AAC travel grant
4. Applicants who submitted an original A/I research abstract or case report, previously presented at another meeting
5. Junior academic faculty
6. Applicants with fewer prior travel grants awarded.

If accepted for a travel grant, receipients must attend all sessions and any other travel grant receipient events. If they have an abstract accepted for an oral or poster presentation, they must be available at their designated session to present their research.
